RYAN BOONE


Ryan Boone is currently the Health and Safety manager for a private national HAZMAT response team. He has been an Industrial Firefighter/EMT for a major steel mill located in Alabama. He is currently a member of Alabama Task Force 1 USAR team. He has 18 years of combined Fire, Rescue and EMS experience. Ryan started with a local volunteer department while serving as an Health and Safety manager for a private national HAZMAT response team. He is familiar with all aspects of chemical transfer involving highway and rail car operations.  Ryan entered the career fire service in 2005 and worked for the City of Mobile as a Firefighter / EMT . Ryan is currently a AL State certified fire Instructor,  Hazmat Technician, High Angle  / Confined Space Technician and is also certified in Structural collapse,  Trench and Swift Water Rescue.  Ryan while also responding to national incidents is very involved teaching technical Rescue and Hazmat  around the country.

TODD DERRICK


Todd Derrick is currently a Battalion Chief with the Oak Ridge, TN Fire Department and has worked in the emergency services field since 1982. In addition to his duties as shift commander at ORFD, he oversees the department’s rescue operations and remains a practicing paramedic. Todd is also a leader in the Knoxville Volunteer Rescue Squad’s “Heavy Team”, which responds regionally to trench, structural and heavy rescue events. Todd is retired from the United States Air Force Guard where he served as boom operator/instructor on board a KC-135.

 

Todd has a special talent for instructing the technical rescue disciplines.  In his career, Todd has responded to many trench collapses and other heavy/technical rescue events. This allows him to bring a great deal of experience to his instruction, which is not always the norm when taking classes in the technical rescue realm.

 

Todd lives in Lenoir City, TN on the lake with his wife Angie.

MIKE McCREARY


Mike McCreary is an owner of the Gulf Coast Emergency Response Academy located in Mobile, Alabama.  He joined the fire service full time in 1981.  In 1996 he began instructing full time and has taught courses all across the United States and in several foreign countries such as Australia, Central America and Turkey.  Mike has a degree in Fire Service Management and currently serves as a member of the NFPA 1006 “Professional Rescue Technician” committee.  Mike has had a passion for the fire service and training for now more than 33 years.
